Every single day I scroll through social media and I see people sharing their opinions on whatever topic they feel passionate about. This is all fine and dandy but what if I told you that there’s a way to make money out of sharing your opinions?

How, you ask?

It’s a great way to pass the time while also earning some extra cash on the side. Unfortunately, scams are also everywhere and you could easily lose money if you get conned.

That being said, I’ve piled up what I think are the 6 best survey sites to make money online and how to avoid the scammy ones.

Let’s talk about it, starting with the latter.

Avoid paid survey scams

Maybe because there are tons of people who are willing to take surveys, there are just as many scams as there are legitimate websites.

Here’s how you can avoid the frauds:

Avoid craigslist ads and emails from survey sites you didn’t sign up for

Don’t get me wrong—I love Craiglist! I even make extra money from home off of it

However, survey ads that you see here are most likely phishing scams that are trying to get your information. The same goes for emails coming from survey sites that you didn’t sign up for.

These scams get your information either by you entering it, replying through your email or by corrupting your computer with malware. Either way, once you fall for them, you can expect your email to be flooded with spam messages so avoid them at all costs.

If it’s too good to be true, it probably is

Stay away from surveys that offer an extravagant amount of money or websites that look too fancy. From what I’ve learned, legitimate survey sites don’t need to dress up their offers or their websites to attract people.

Never pay to take surveys

Not all paid survey sites that require you to pay fees are scams but there are a lot of them so, honestly, I suggest you just stay away from them altogether rather than risk losing money.

Read more about the company

Authentic paid survey sites want their visitors to know more about them but at the same time, they also don’t want to divulge any sensitive information about the people who take their surveys.

So, if you’re looking to sign up for a new paid survey site, I suggest you look for a privacy policy and an “about us” page on their website. If they have neither of those two, chances are it’s a scam.

Moreover, you could also check the company’s reputation on Survey Police and The Better Business Bureau (BBB) so you can get a better grasp on what it’s really about.

Now that you know how to avoid getting scammed, let’s move on to…

The best online survey sites to make money

1. Prize Rebel

As of today, Prize Rebel has well over 9 million members and has paid $18 million dollars in cash and rewards since 2007—that’s impressive!

Moreover, signing up for it is quick and easy so you can start earning points right away, which you can redeem for cash and gift cards from PayPal, Amazon, eBay, Visa, and Steam.

2. Pinecone Research

Pinecone Research is big on helping make your opinions on products reach their manufacturers, meaning you get a say on what products hit the market.

Similar to Prize Rebel, you can earn points with each completion of a survey which you can then use to redeem cash (via PayPal) or rewards. They might even send you the occasional product to test out. Cool, eh?

3. Survey Junkie

Survey Junkie and Pinecone Research operate in a similar way where they connect your opinion as a consumer to product manufacturers and service providers. Plus, it’s a HUGE community with over 10 million members.

Once you’ve garnered 1000 points (the equivalent of $10) from answering surveys, you can use it to either redeem e-giftcards, cash out with PayPal, or transfer money directly to your bank.

Do take note that bank transfers usually take longer (3-4 business days) than PayPal transfers where you most likely will have the money in your account within 24 hours.

4. Inbox Dollars

InboxDollars has given away more than $50 million dollars to its members since the year 2000. That’s impressive, sure, but what I really like about this site is its variety.

Here, you can earn money not just by taking surveys but also by watching videos and reading emails. Not only that, you also get cashback opportunities from playing games, shopping online, and redeeming coupons.

5. Swagbucks

Like InboxDollars, Swagbucks offers a variety of ways to earn points, including:

  •     Answering surveys and polls
  •     Cashback shopping
  •     Using their search engine
  •     Playing their games
  •     Watching videos and playlists

You can then use the points you earned to redeem gift cards for popular retailers such as Amazon, Walmart, Target, and Starbucks. If money is what you’re after, you can exchange your points for cash (via PayPal) too.

6. Vindale Research

Continuing the trend on variety, I think Vindale Research is right up there with InboxDollars and Swagbucks

It’s also one of the oldest running paid survey sites and it’s still going strong to this very day. As a matter of fact, their members have collectively earned well over $7 million dollars.

What sets Vindale Research apart from other paid survey sites is that completing surveys doesn’t earn you points for cash or rewards, it earns you CASH right away!

Answering surveys isn’t the only way you can get paid either. Vindale also sends you money for:

  •     Finding reward codes
  •     Referring a friend
  •     Sending a photo of yourself with your Vindale payment
  •     Reading promotional emails
  •     Watching their videos and giving your feedback

And there you have it—the 6 best paid survey sites that you can join to earn extra money. You may not be earning as much as you would with your day job but at least you’re getting paid to voice out your opinion.
